Divine love of the Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra

(Picture clicked by me in the rains of Goa!)

Today I’m sharing a Vedic mantra that I learned from my mamma. She chants this to my sister, Sufiana, everyday. And, I’ve noticed that if Sufiana is crying, she becomes quiet and peaceful listening to this mantra. This is the mantra of Lord Shiva. You should sing this one hundred and eight times a day – morning and Evening. It positively affect’s your body, soothes your mind and heart. You feel deeply devoted inside your inner-self.

It took me sometime to learn the sanskrit words in this mantra and pronounce them correctly. Please don’t forget, it’s important to pronounce the words right. Other wise you won’t get the value of this mantra.

Here’s how to sing this:

Om Triyambakam Yaja Mahe Sugundhim Pusthi Var Dhanum

Urava Ruka Miva Bandhanan Mrityor Mokshiya Mamritat.

This is the whole mantra. It may be a little tough for you to sing hundred eight times a day but don’t worry you will soon learn it. 🙂

I actually pretty much like the melody of it – the way it’s sung in this video. Please listen to this chanting – it is very peaceful. My little sister loves when my mamma sings this prayer. She focuses on every word of this song. Carefully! That’s it for now. I’m sure you’ll like this prayer.

Spread the love of this mantra today on Valentine’s Day! 🙂 What better way to wish Valentine’s Day!
