Art is fun when you don’t focus on the end result of it and enjoy the process. Not being sad/unhappy if it didn’t turn out as you wished in the end. Sometimes your result maybe bad, but you did try to explore and try different ways of making art.
Specially Tape Resist Art is more focused on the process than the end result, because the joy itself is in applying the tape, and trying different ways of doing art in the left-over blank spaces, and then peeling off the tape.
That’s why i named my blog post title Art Is Not a Destination It’s a Journey because making art is not a destination/a project. It’s a journey/process. And so, I am so fond of Tape Resist i can’t resist making it again and again.
A different Way of Making Tape Resist Art
Last time I incorporated a night sky with owl in the space between the tape. I applied the tape in a zig-zag random fashion so that when I peeled the tape, the space left behind had varied shapes. This time, though, mamma and I decided to apply the tape in a structured, grid manner. So, as you can see, when we removed the tape, we got neat blocks of art in between the grids. To make the art, I used cotton and dabbed it in different colors on the paper. The combination of the colors(pink and yellow) gave it a beautiful and soothing effect.
Feeling it was yet incomplete, i stamped with carved wooden leaf – over the cotton prints. This brought life into my art.
The colors look vibrant. My heart was jumping to peel off the Tape. Of course, that seemed quite interesting to me! And..there! I peeled the tape off. The art slowly revealing itself underneath!
How satisfied i felt after doing this piece of Art. And after doing it in the night, i felt so soothing while sleeping.
Art is so beautiful and divine. Isn’t it?
Tip: And hey readers, i’d like to share a important tip with you. After applying the tape and doing coloring or whatever else you’d like in the left-over blank spaces, it’s better to take out the tape sooner than later or else the tape’d come off with the paper.
