Some Wondrous Lines From My Favorite Book – Wonder

me reading books when i was small

Picture of me reading books, when I was a bit small.

Previous time, i wrote about the book ‘Wonder’, if you have read.

I remember every single line of that book now, and i’ve read bits of pieces of it at least dozens of times, but i’m still never bored of it. Whether i’m in the the toilet, or doing something, or having food alone, i just read the book. I think i’m never ever, going to think that book is boring in my life. The story in this book, seems completely different than any other book i’ve read.

As we run ahead, i’m gonna tell you what this post is really about. This post, is about lines, in Wonder, that striked me. The lines, that shook me as soon as i read it. I still have those lines in my mind. Every single word seems to be saved in my mind like a picture get saved permanently on a computer until you delete it.

So, here are the lines i found beautiful in ‘Wonder’:

  1. A character in the book says: Sometimes, you don’t have to mean to hurt someone, to hurt someone. You understand?                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                               Why I found this line interesting: Somehow, as soon as this line cracked open from mamma’s mouth when she read it to me, it really striked me. I many times do something, and say “But i didn’t mean to do that!” If we did something wrong, we all mostly say that. Think. Have you noticed it? At least some of us say it. Of course we don’t mean to do something wrong. We just do it. This line made me remember my own mistake, saying “i didn’t mean to do that”.
  2. Mr Browne’s precept: When given the choice between being right or being kind, choose kind.
  3. Mr Browne’s precept: Kind words do not cost much, yet they accomplish much.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                             Why I found this line interesting: This short yet meaningful line struck me. Kind words don’t cost lot, but they bring us love, affection. We accomplish. I really agree with this line.
  4. A conversation between a mother and son:

“Mommy, is daisy with grans now?”

“I think so”.

“Are they in heaven?”

“Yes”.

“Do people look the same when they go to heaven, mommy?”

“I don’t know. I don’t think so.”

“Then how do people recognize each other?”

“I don’t know, sweetie. They just feel it. You don’t need your eyes to love, right? You just feel it inside you. That’s how it is in heaven. It’s just love and nobody forgets who they love”.

Why I found this line interesting: This simple yet meaningful conversation between a mother and child was beautiful. The way the child questions, and the mother gives the answers was lovely.

Now that you’ve read a bit about the book, go ahead yourself and buy it. Read it, then tell me how it was. It will be good to get your opinion 🙂 To know more about the book, click here.
